Great Thanksgiving!

I hope yours was as well if you celebrate Thanksgiving. I had good food and watched some great football and worked on cross stitch and my crochet blanket.  This is Sandra Paul's free pattern on her Cherry Heart website or on Ravelry.  It is 28 squares across and 24 down.  I have 2 more squares to go and I will be finished with row #1 of 24 which are all joined together.  I am  using the Join As You Go (JAYG) method that she has instructions for.  I've used several of her knitting and crochet patterns and they are very well written and super easy to understand.

This is a picture of her finished blanket since I can no longer upload photos from my camera.....I had to order several yarns but she used Style Craft Special DK and I had many of them already.  A few I substituted for other DK yarns to get the right colors.  It's very enjoyable, easy to memorize and just the project I needed for when I watch t.v.

Yesterday, I got all the lights up and decorations for Christmas.  I've always wanted to get the decorations up the day after Thanksgiving but this is the first time I actually got it done!  Yay me!

I also got in on some Black Friday online deals and watched the Chiefs win again!!!  Yay!

Today, I am putting the Advent gifts in order and wrapping.  I have one more gift that is to arrive Tuesday but I can get the rest ready.  How are you doing on your decorating and gift wrapping?  It's a good time to do it as there are plenty of leftovers and no cooking required for a few days at least!

Turkey Day...or not...

I made the pumpkin pie yesterday and I got up early this morning to make the other sides.  The game starts at 11:30 so I will put the turkey in then.  I get a Butterball turkey breast which you don't have to thaw first unless you want to.  I'll make sweet potato casserole, mashed potatoes and gravy, cranberry sauce, and a lime pear jello salad.  It rained yesterday afternoon but the sun is shining this morning.  It's supposed to get to 53 today.

I hope you all have a great day whether you have turkey or not!

I'm thinking I am not supposed to blog anymore.....

I have not been able to load pictures to my pc and I have spent hours with tech support which I  pay for and then found out they were sold to another company and they are awful!  They were rude and said I would have to reinstall Windows.....really?  They used to be able to log on to my pc and fix any problem I had.  This guy was Chinese and I couldn't understand him.  I asked him to speak slow and he asked if there was anyone else there that could help me....help me  understand him?.....like a Chinese translator?  Don't get my wrong, I've had the other company for years and they were Chinese and I never had a problem understanding them and If I did they would repeat it slower and they were never rude.  So, I will be getting another software and kick these new guys to the curb.

So, I have no photos except I can post downloads and email pics that Amy sends me.  The last one I had is of the grands on Halloween and don't ask me what they are dressed up like! LOL!  I haven't a clue! Sam is on the right, and Grayson is in the middle, and the last one on the left is a friend of Grayson's.

I can't remember the last time what  I've posted about and what I haven't so if this is old news, I apologize.  The blood thinner is working evidently as no more double vision or feeling like I am on ship in a storm...lol!  No word from the cardiovascular surgeon.  Evidently there must be a lot of people worse off than me.  I've been walking every day unless it is pouring rain or high wind warnings.  With all the woods that I walk through it would be just my luck to be hit by a falling limb.

I was working on the border of my Hawk Run Hollow fall cross stitch but had to put it down so I could get busy on the annual Christmas  ornaments.  The grands loved the Halloween ornaments.  I stole this image from Melissa's blog, Pinker and Punkin, of her Barnyard Christmas Cat since I can't upload photos of mine....I haven't fully finished it yet but I have one of 4 done........one will go to Sam in remembrance of Grace, my cat that they took in and she loved Sam....we would tease him that it was his girlfriend....she followed him everywhere and could never get close enough to him.  The other one will be for Grayson as he loves Miss Peeps.....he never asks how Grandma is but the first thing out of his mouth is "how is Miss Peeps"? LOL!  They will have the 2024 year charms and a tag with all the information.  Isn't it cute?  She has so many beautiful FREE patterns for quilting, embroidery and cross stitch.  She is so talented and generous.  So much eye candy with all her decorating too!  BTW, the other 2 will be for my tree.

Other than that I have all of the Advent gifts in house to mail to Amy after Thanksgiving as it starts the 13th of December through the 25th.  I have all my groceries for Thanksgiving dinner for me, myself, and I plus my Chiefs will be playing that day too!  I'm still doing the Swedish Death Cleaning and it's going really well.  I have gotten rid of so much but there is more!  This week I am cleaning the family room and cleaning and prepping the fireplace for the first fire of the season on Thanksgiving, if it's not too warm.  We had our first frost night before last but it gets into the 60's usually by afternoon.

Oh, I fell the other day too....I'm fine and it wasn't my fault.  I was getting ready to go to bed and I had my pj's on and my Birkenstok sandals which have a rubber sole.  Well, I was walking through the family room and although there is an area rug, underneath and around that rug is linoleum flooring.   There was a puddle that could only have been caused by Miss Peeps urinating although she has never done that before but there was no other reason for any water to be there.  Well, I went down like a rock!  I was afraid I broke something since they say my Osteoporosis is so bad....but lo and behold, I got up and I was fine.  I scraped my elbow and the next day my shoulder and my wrist were sore but no worse for wear and tear!  I am so blessed!

I hope you are all well and if you are in the U.S. that you are getting ready to celebrate Thanksgivng!
