I have spent the past 22 years by myself for all holidays but I truly enjoy them. I got lovely presents and purchased a few for myself that I saved for Christmas morning. I watched the game and crocheted and had good food!
I'm already starting to make plans for 2025. I sent cards and visited with my 2 new neighbors and they are very nice. The one couple remodeled an existing house and the other couple built a brand new house on the lake and it is gorgeous!
I watch a podcast called Rose Red Homestead on You Tube and they are an older couple in their 70's and they focus on Emergency Preparedness, Food Security, and Self Reliance.I watched them the other day and it was called Gadgets for Seniors and Everyone Else. It was excellent and they test out everything and not just one type of that item. There were several jar and bottle openers, a stepladder with hand rails, a button zipper fastener, a grabber/reacher tool, a standing aid support, and a car handle assist. I've already ordered the car handle assist for my truck. She has a truck too and like mine there is a handle above to grab onto but this gadget allows you to push up with your other hand. I'm thinking of the standing aid also or maybe one of those gardening cushions with the handles on both sides. I could use it in the house not just gardening.
They have a good video on various options and tools for when the power grid goes down also. Check them out!
Happy Trails!!!

I have a garden kneeler with high handles that I use when I get in the bottom of my refrigerator. I rise better with help, LOL. Merry Christmas!
I like the idea of chocolate and 6 million:) I have seen the car door aids, might be worth a try! Good to hear that you had a good Christmas! We are still enjoying the caramels you sent! Thank you so much for the Christmas box full of good things!
I hadn't heard of the car door assist. It may be something I need to check out.
It looks as though you keep pretty busy. I've been missing your posts.
Blessings,
Betsy
I spent this Christmas day alone (sons were at respective in-laws this year) and my friend said to me just yesterday 'don't make a habit of it'! 22 years of celebrating alone is a lot!
We both use a garden kneel tool. Works great. Thanks for the info on that YouTube channel too. We spent Christmas by ourselves this Year. All the kids had plans with their other families. Hopefully it'll be our turn for Christmas with them next year.
Glad you enjoyed your Christmas. A day to spoil yourself. xx
Sounds like a great podcast with a lot of useful information.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Sam. We had a lovely Christmas day and continue to celebrate the season through January 6th. That podcast sounds really good. I have never been able to sit and watch any podcasts. They usually do not appeal to me. I may need to try this one.
I think that's what I will get! Merry Christmas to you too!
You are so welcome....I ate all the rest of them! LOL!
I just heard they won't be delivering until 1/24....I'll let you know how it works after that. It comes with 2, one for the driver and passenger.
I think it helps that I was an only child. I learned early on how to be happy all by myself.
I love to see the grands but I don't miss all the cooking, wrapping, decorating and cleaning....it's too much for me at my age. They'll come at Spring Break.
You've got that right! I hope you spoiled yourself too! Happy New Year!
It is one I enjoy for great information. Happy New Year!
Happy New Year to you!!! Glad you had a great Christmas. I keep the decorations up too.
