YOP Week #27

Happy New Year!!! I hope you had a safe and healthy one.  I've had a nice holiday so far and I've stayed busy trying to ensure I start all the things I want to at the beginning of this year.  The 2 biggies are de-cluttering and yoga.

Let's get on with what I've been up to this week in the "making" department!  I made my first project bag!
Yay!  It turned out much better than I expected too.  I used a tutorial from Celeste Creates on You Tube and she is a great teacher!  Here' s my bag...........

I have another cut out but I need to order more fusible fleece.  I love it and can't wait to make more!

I worked on my socks this week.......I finished the cuff on each one and have started the leg on sock #1.

The hexies got some love too................

This next week I will continue to work on my socks and my hexies.  I will probably pick up my Chicken Joy cross stitch and work on it.  A very important project this week is to organize my cross stitch and floss and set up a schedule of what projects I will focus on and what projects I will have in my rotation and how many.  I have goals and plans for other areas of my life too.

I started the Yoga and the first day was easy but the 2nd day not so much.  I did good at first until she wanted us to sit back on our haunches......but I did the all fours back stretches and it felt good and I am going to continue and although I am already behind I will just progress at a slower rate.  I'll keep trying until I master each area.  She's on You Tube if you're interested.

As for the de-clutter challenge....that starts January 4th....CreatingMarysHome.com and there's a Facebook Group.

I hope you are having a great start to your New Year and that you are inspired to create even more this  year!

P.S. I loved the black-eyed peas and will post the recipe tomorrow.

Happy Trails!!!

We are both doing the 30 day yoga with Adriene!!! I've done some of her videos before so I'm looking forward to this set. I also like pilates and plan to do that in addition to the yoga - fingers crossed - haven't gotten the pilates started.

Like your project bags. They are fun aren't they. I love the ones I made myself as they are such cute fabrics and are the size and shape I want. I have an older blog post about "craft creep" - start knitting, end up sewing project bags.

Your project bag is fab - what are you going to put in it? Or have you already assigned a project? I also love the socks. Your challenges sound great, I haven't done anything over Christmas that requires me moving too far!

What a cute project bag. You did a great job of sewing it. I like the colors of your socks. They are so bright and cheerful. Your hexies are moving right along. It won't be long and you will be working on putting them together. Good luck on the Yoga. I am sure you will do better and better the more you work at it. Looking forward the 91 day challenge. It is really eye opening all the things we hang onto and really don't need to.

One of the fitness groups I belong to on Facebook frequently sings the praises of Yoga with Adriene. One of these years I need to try it out.

I love your project bag! I am baffled by all the different interfacings and avoid projects with them. Your beautiful project bag is inspiring me to go outside my comfort zone and read up on what interfacings are appropriate for what kind of projects (a table would be perfect).

Happy New Year!

Your project bag looks great and the edging looks lovely, very professional finish. I'm doing the same decluttering challenge and my husband and I are restarting our weekday yoga tomorrow morning. Its nice to have others on the same journey.

Good Morning Sam. You are making great progress on all of your projects this week. That bag is beautiful. I really need to make a few more bags too but have no confidence in myself. I REALLY need a few zippered medium size bags, but I've never put a zipper in anything.
I should start something like yoga but there isn't much room in here. I wonder if I could do it?
Take care my friend.
Blessings,
Betsy

Happy New Year!I love your project bag. My daughter-in-law is doing the same yoga class! Here is a link to the little crocheted mouse you liked on my blog. https://www.ollieholly.com/blog/2020/01/25/free-rescuers-inspired-valentines-day-mouse-amigurumi-pattern
You should be able to copy and paste it into your browser. Stay well and safe my friend.

You're always inspiring me, Sam. Your project bag looks great! I will check out the tutorial. Not sure I'm up for it, but you and several other commenters have made me curious. I guess I'll be checking that out, too. ;^) Happy New Year, Sam!

Check out Celeste Creates you tube channel as her tutorial is great and it is easy if you follow her instructions. She tell you to use fusible fleece which yout just iron on....easy peasy and I don't say that lightly as I was very hesitant I would mess up!

Watch Celeste Creates tutorial on You Tube...it's wonderful! You don't need much room for the Yoga...take it slow though....don't hurt yourself!

Great ideas for the new year for sure. I continue to work on my walking, especially hills - good for the heart. I love the material you chose for your project bag. Nice work.

You've got some great New Years plans there. Decluttering is high on my list, as well as organizing. I've heard great things about Yoga with Adriene and I might copy you there once my arm is better healed. Super pretty project bag and your socks and hexies are coming right along! Have a great week.

Love your socks, the colours look so cheerful. And I can't wait to see your embroidery, you always make such beautiful things. Decluttering is high on my list as well, I've decided to do just one drawer / shelf space / kitchen cupboard per day so it doesn't get too overwhelming. Slow but steady.
