A little patriotic decorating...........

I got my red, white, and blue lights on the tree and the flags are outside........I have more but just this little cross stitch piece for now........

Miss Peeps in her "play pen"....those little specks on the rug are from her clawing it....she's ruined furniture, rugs, you name it....last animal I'll ever have, sad to say!  But it's too late now....she does keep me company....she's a cutie.........that's her "baby" and the other is a toy Santa brought her last Christmas.....

Do you have plans for the long weekend?  I'm doing the usual....cleaning, cooking, painting and sewing if I get around to it.  The weather here is beautiful and I hope yours is too!

Happy Trails!!!

Pets are lots of work...when we had cats they were declawed because of the clawing issue. They can still catch mice too. I understand about not needing the destruction and the extra cleaning:) We went for a Ranger Blue ride tonight, I would like to visit one more cemetery this weekend.

Good Memorial Day to you.

The pillow is wonderful! We never declawed cats until the last one. He loved to scratch people. One morning I reached my arms out to turn off the alarm and he latched onto my upper arm with his claws. Luckily my husband was home and could detach him. I still have the scars. That was it, he went to the vet that week for surgery.

Now I have grandchildren with allergies, so no inside pets. I just enjoy other people's animals.

Cousin Kay - thank you, she was a feral cat that was only 4 weeks old when she got washed away from her mother in a storm...I'm guessing. It took me weeks to get her to come to me.
Far Side of Fifty - I was going to get her declawed but the vet said that it is really cruel to do that to them....really? The have anesthesia...I wonder if it's too late?
Susan - Lucky you...Fall is my favorite time of year and then Winter...I do not like heat...enjoy your Fall weekend!
Between Me and You - we honor all the people who gave their lives defending our country...not sure when it started but it is a National Holiday here.
Miss Merry - Ouch! Miss Peeps attacks my legs/feet and has made me bleed many a time so I have to wear shoes all the time. I can't even wear sandals as she will get me. I have no idea why she does it....she's cray-cray!

Love the tree and the beautiful cross stitch. I really need to make some patriotic things to put out.
We do have lots of beautiful weather and have had all week. Temps in the 70's-low 80's and low, low humidity. It's almost like Spokane! We're loving the no humidity and have had all of the windows open since we moved. It means cleaning more often because of the dust and pollen but I don't care. There's nothing like fresh air.
I'm gad you have Miss Peeps. I can't imagine not having an animal but I do know what you mean about lots of work and damage. Zoey has actually done really well and not caused any damage but we call her our "velcro" dog. She insists on being with us as much as possible and cries when we leave her. She actually cries "Mama" whenever I'm out of her sight. It ties you down a lot.
Take care my dear friend.
Blessings and hugs,
Betsy
