YOP Week #52 Year 11

To be honest, I only actually worked on about 3 items that were on my 2021 - 2022 YOP project list...very disheartening.....every year I promise to do better.  Maybe this will be the year?

Most of my finishes weren't on my list........like this Fox Scarf I made for my daughter's birthday.....

This little quilt was also not on the list but it was a finish..............

 Giant Granny Square blanket #2

 Annual 2021 Collectible Halloween Ornaments

This has not been framed yet but it is a finish.........

 a pair of mittens.......

again..a finish but not a final finish.....maybe this should be the year of final finishes!

My 2020 Christmas Eve cast on socks...........

The 2022 Annual  Collectible Christmas Ornaments.........they're reindeer not pigs...lol!

 a washcloth....only 1 this year?

I made one project bag when I need dozens!

Another finish...............but not a final finish.....

 finished the back.........

another finish but not final finished...I have a boatload of final finishes to do!

another XS finish...........for June Prairie Schooler Folk Art ornaments

 a sampler alphabet...........

July folk art ornament from Priaire Schooler designs

this will be a little scissor fob whenever it is "final finished" which seems to be a dirty word around here.....I think 2022 - 2023 will all be final finishes!

 a Quaker flag.........

 a future pin cushion.........but a finish

This is a picture of Grayson's tie just before I bound off but it is finished now and the ends are woven in...ta da!

Well, that's it for YOP 2021-2022..........I did accomplish more than I thought but very little of it was on my original list.....but it was a fun year and I am ready to do it all over again!

Happy Trails!!!

I wouldn't know how to pick a favorite but I sure love that fox scarf! And the folk art cross stitch is gorgeous! Love the Halloween things too. You get a lot done...more than I do! lol

Golly, all those xstitch projects you completed! I am impressed. You made me chuckle about final finish being a dirty word. I have really enjoyed watching your projects this past year. You inspired me to pull out my xstitch and get back into it. Thank you for that. Now, on to YOP 12.

Still looks like a great year to me. I have found that I'm getting better at sticking to my plan only because I've learned over time what I really like to knit and how much I can knit in a year. So my plan has become (a little) more realistic. Plus I look at my plan as suggestions. I enjoy looking at what I planned versus what I did at the end of the year. Adding "goals" like knitting a pattern from a new to me designer has helped me feel successful even if I didn't get the pattern finished.

I enjoy seeing all your projects again, Sam. You were a prolific crafter in spite of ignoring your list. I gave up list making my crafts years ago and let go of the guilt when I just work away on whatever pleases me a the moment. Of course, that's not been happening much this year, but still.. by the seat of my pants is how I tend to roll. Looking forward to seeing what you create over the next 12 months. And seeing some of these projects finally finished. "Dirty word" - you're too funny.

Beautiful things. I love your Halloween ornaments. Do you have a Halloween tree? My list also grows and fluctuates throughout the year. I’m going to try to focus this year!

Ove all your things. Just a thought, I have loads of project bags and I've cut down my number of projects. I would love to send you some. I didn't make them, just bought and given to me. Send me a message on Instagram with your address and I'll be happy to mail them to you. HUGS, Sharon.

Congratulations on all those wonderful finishes. I also have a boat load of finishes that need FFOing. Not sure when I'll ever get around to them though.
I look forward to your year ahead and what I'm sure will be filled with inspirational fully finishes.

I don’t think it matters if you stick to the list or not, I enjoy seeing all your projects. I’m a natural completer-finisher, so we would make a great team, you do the stitching and I’d do the finishing. I hope you manage to find your finishing off mojo as these FOs deserve to be displayed showing your achievements or enjoyed by others as gifts. I think the Santa is my favourite from this year, although I also like the April one a lot too. Lovely work.

I love all the cross stitching you completed! Maybe you haven't "final finished" them because you aren't 100% convinced your original plans are what you want to do with them?
I do love the ornaments, they are precious and heirloom quality.

What a fabulous year! I love all of your projects, but I especially love the cross stitch projects. You do not have to 'try to do better' - I love making a list and making the plans - but in reality I rarely keep to it. And that is fine - I will make another list because I enjoy doing it , then go ahead and make things that please me! I love seeing your weekly posts and seeing a snippet of your life! 😊

What a great set of projects! I found I could not stick to a yearly list at all! I’ve been setting myself quarterly goals, it’s (mostly) working better for me. But at the end of the day, for me, it’s not the list that matters, it’s the fact that I’m finishing projects. ~Jen @CarolinaTales
