Amana quilt shop...............

My daughter went to the Amana's yesterday and visited a quilt shop among other things.  She sent me a few photos...so cute!

and this one.............

The grands favorite place was the rock shop............they're big rock and fossil hounds along with their Mother and Grandmother....

I miss going up to the Amana's.   It was only about 1/2 hour from my home and they had a cross stitch shop and so much more!  Ice cream, bakery, gift shops, and family style Amish cooking.

I hope you are enjoying your summer!

Happy Trails!!!

Went to the Amana's when I was a child but still remember it. The quilts stayed in my memory. Those boys are growing up so fast.

We used to go to the Amanas when I was a child. It was a long drive from home so I was not too fond of it. I think Grayson looks a lot like Gus in that picture.

The boys are getting so tall! The bee quilt is my favorite. So intricate. I love the Amana Colonies. We used to go twice a year when the kids were little. Mom & Dad would keep them for us and we would drive to the Amana's and spend one night. It was our only getaway's all year back then. We loved the little shops and especially the family style cooking. One time I ate so much for dinner that I didn't want much breakfast the next morning so I just ordered a cinnamon roll. I'm sure you know what happened! It was as big as a dinner plate!!!! I ended up taking most of it "to go" and we snacked on it all of the way home. Hopefully we can go later this year if the gas would just go down a bit.
Blessings,
Betsy
