We did get rain last night but nothing from Ida....it turned East but our storm was nice and I didn't have to water today. I fertilized my outside plants with fish oil fertilizer the other day and my houseplants today. I got the garbages all emptied and relined and got the garbage out to the street.
I joined AAA today. I've never used it before but I'm thinking it might be good in case I ever get stuck out on the highway somewhere. Do any of you belong? Do you like it?
I paid a few bills and made a layered salad that took a good bit of time. It needs to sit overnight in the frig. I'll be having it with my Crunchy Cheeseroni Casserole that I'll be making tomorrow for supper.
Tonight I'm having the Cheesy Egg Wedges (a recipe from Mama Pea at A Homegrown Journal) and a raisin bran muffin for supper.
I got a treasure in the mail today that I have been waiting for...this book which I will be curling up with tonight! This is a podcast I follow called The Elliott Homestead..................it"s a beautiful book. I can't wait to start turning the pages............I did manage to finish my first row of my bed quilt and press the seams open..............
The grands went to Maquoketa Caves State Park with the Cub Scouts yesterday...........they had a great time......
I hope you all had a nice weekend and a great start to your week!
Happy Trails!!!

I vaguely remember going to Maquoketa Caves as a child. I was never a big fan of being underground.
We have Emergency Road service with our Auto Insurance, it is only a few dollars every six months. Your supper looks great! Stay cool!
My parents had a AAA membership and so did my grandparents. No one in my family has an mechanical ability so it was a lifesaver more than once. I married a guy that is good at everything so we have never had a AAA membership. We do have towing on our car insurance policy and just used it a few weeks ago when his truck "died" at the city compost pile. We also have three sons who are just like their dad and are on call if help is needed.
My best friend has AAA and loves it. They get maps and have used the roadside assistance several times over the years.
Your meals look amazing and I can just imagine curling up and reading that book too.
I've been keeping up with your posts but unable to comment because Blogger doesn't like my phone. :-(
Take care Sam and have a great night.
Blessings and hugs,
Betsy
Your food looks delicious, Sam. The grands look healthy and happy. Cute boys. :)
Look at your grands!!! :) That salad looks amazing Sam. What a lovely book!
Aw, the pic of your grands is very cute! And your casserole looks absolutely delicious!
I was with the AA (UK version of your AAA) until I got my car insurance renewed with another provider who includes breakdown assistance in their cover, saving me quite a bit of money per year. Your grandsons look adorable, as does the sound of the Crunchy Cheeseroni Casserole! Enjoy.
