YOP Week #32 Year 12

It's a beautiful day here and I plan on going outside after this as it is 60 F!!!  Oh baby, oh baby!  I've already been to Walmart and picked up groceries and it is just a gorgeous day.  It was a rough week but nothing terrible and yesterday I managed to get some creating done.

I have another final finish......Valentine Chickens from a free pattern by The Real Housewives of Cross Stitch............

This week I worked on the Mini Quaker XS............

I also trimmed my quilt, and measured and cut the binding.......

I was going to decorate the tree for Valentine's Day but I didn't have any batteries....they're on their way now.....

My Spanish Course arrived so I'll be starting that this coming week....

I also meant to tell you I have been practicing piano 30 minutes per day except on the weekends.  The only problem is, one should really learn piano before you get arthritis in your hands! LOL!  I guess my dreams of being a concert pianist are now thwarted.....oh well.  I can play Ode to Joy though....with one hand.

I got quite a bit of treasures this week....I got a book I already finished.......it was so good!  I'll be reading more of her books!

The other treasures are these........floss bags.........

fabric...........
and floss and rings..................

I also got the patterns to make the Keepsakes calendar...the house is on the top and the other patterns make up the 12 months under neath the house.....it will be gorgeous!  The house is like the one I remember from my childhood that I loved.  I've seen this calendar partially done by Pam of Just Keep Stitchin' podcast and it is so pretty!

these are the other patterns........oops....book 1 is missing.....

This is the  project bag pattern I want to make.........

Here's a cute little free pattern from Temecula Quilt Co. for Valentine's Day

I did work on my sock and finished the heel and the gusset and I am ready to start the foot.

This week I hope to finish the quilt, finish a little Valentine XS from last year, do another final finish, do some outside burning and some window washing plus I am going to clear off my black bookcases in my crafts room and get ready to paint them a cream color.  The paint is supposed to arrive this coming week.  It is Rustoleum chalk paint.  The black prevents me from seeing things on the book case and it makes the room darker too.  I should get back to work on Baby Jesus also.

I hope you are doing well and are having good weather whatever you feel that is.

Happy Trails!!!

Look at you with another finished xs. It is so cute. You got so many lovely treasures too. Arthritis in the hands does make playing the piano a challenge lol. I played for 45 years and then I no longer could. It was one of the hardest things to give up. When I gave my piano away I cried. Good luck with your Spanish course. I have one and have never even started it. Sounds like your weather finally settled down. Enjoy the mild weather.

WOW!!! That's a lot of needlework! I love your idea on a seasonal tree. The volunteer office at a local hospital had a beautiful seasonal tree. I always get depressed when I take the Christmas tree down. Instead I need to just change out the decorations!! Good luck on your Spanish course. Another great idea.

Your Valentine tree is going to be so cute. Great idea, Sam. And I didn't realize I needed to know about another place to get cross stitch supplies from online, but I'm glad you mentioned Keepsakes Cross Stitch. It appears they've sold out of all their stock temporarily, so I'll have to check back - next week, the website says. You've got some nice new patterns!

It was 45 degrees here yesterday and I thought it was balmy! I even took a road trip to the big city and visited some thrift shops and two Goodwills!

Your have a lot of fun here. I love Fortnight Fabrics. I was in two of the fabric-of-the-month clubs a couple of years ago. I have quite a bit of their 28 and 32 count fabrics which I use often. Your Stitching with the Housewives valentine pillow is so cute. I hope you share your tree once the batteries arrive and you finish decorating.

Sounds like you had a lovely warm day, 60F here is t-shirt weather in the Highlands practically. Your little Valentines finished item is precious. Good luck with your piano practice, if your hands get sore you can always do your Spanish classes instead. Will you be taking a trip to a Spanish speaking country to practice? I spent 46 days in Peru/Bolivia/Costa Rica and was amazed how much I picked up whilst there. I hope this week is equally lovely weather for you, Spring is around the corner.
