So, what did I do today you ask?

Cleaned the outside of my frig! LOL!  See how exciting it is around my house?

I started out looking for my favorite cleaning book....The Lost Art of House Cleaning by Jan Dougherty

I needed a refresher as she has some great tips and a cleaning plan that seems to work for me .....when I use it lol!  Anyway, the book was on my Kindle for my PC but when I brought up Kindle there were no books there.....HUH?!?!?!  I have books on my tablet but my old books were all on my pc and they didn't upload to my tablet.  So, I spent all morning with their tech support and come to find out my books are out there but under my old email address and if I enter it they will send a reset of my password to my old email address which I can't access.  I lost hundreds of dollars worth of books!  Going to fiber and changing my email address was the worst thing I ever did!  EVER!  So, I reordered the cleaning book.  She introduced me to the greatest cleaning solution...Krud Kutter...it is a concentrated cleaner/degreaser and is biodegradable, non-toxic and you don't need to wear gloves with it.  It costs about $15 a gallon but it lasts a long time.  Well, especially if you're like me and you  don't get the cleaning bug very often.....lol!  I got mine at Walmart...where else? It does leave streaks so you need to go back over the area with plain vinegar.  Some areas you'll use full strength and others you'll dilute and put in spray bottles.  So, that was my "deep" cleaning for today!

I also did receive the last Advent gift in the mail...YAY!!!!  I took pictures of them before wrapping so I can show you tomorrow on YOP.

When I was at the mechanics yesterday I asked him if there was anywhere I could get my car washed and detailed and lo and behold there was a place not too far from me here in town!  Who knew?  It might be my Christmas present to myself.  I used to keep my car nice but it's hard for me to crawl around in that Tahoe so, Merry Christmas to me!

Luther, the lawn genius came today and blew all the leaves away from the trees and fence lines and mulched it all!  It looks really nice!  All set for winter now!

The new neighbors left this morning for Mexico or Texas or somewhere to spend the winter...what a bunch of wimps! LOL!  They just moved here!  My neighbor got horn swaggled into getting their garbage in, letting the pest control people in every month and Monday she has to go over and let the plumber in to turn off the water.  She's in her 80's and they are not even retired so they're young.  With 2 residences (or more) you'd think they'd have enough money to hire someone.  Times like this I'm glad I stay to myself! It doesn't pay to befriend these island hoppers....lol!

That's all the news here on the homestead....other than I watched Princess of the Castle? on Netflix with Brooke Shields..it was good and it takes place in Scotland and there were knitters and lots of them!

Happy Trails!!!

I am cleaning out my freezer - transferring stuff to the inside freezer, ditching the unidentifiable and trying to use up what I can before my beef takes a little trip to the butchers. Homemade dressing tonight! 2 baggies of diced celery, all the frozen bread odd and ends in different baggies and a pint of frozen broth.

I heard that the Brooke Shields film was so bad it was good! One of the castles featured is mine and My two Granddaughters favourite place to go in summertime.Your neighbour's given herself more work agreeing to all those 'favours'.

I am somglad I have a black fridge. No finger prints or nasty smudges. We clean the handles weekly anyway though. Looking forward to seeing the advent gifts tomorrow. I didn't think Arkansas got that horrible during the winter for people to head south. Sorry tobhear your neighbor got hornnswaggled. (Thats a word I haven't heard since my dad passed away in 1976)

I need to do that too. I chop up peppers and onions but I never thought of celery and it usually goes bad before I can use it all. Thanks for that tip!

I agree about the film....I loved the scenery, the pub, and the castles....how lucky to be able to visit them!

Those neighbors have some kind of nerve asking an 80-something year old to care for their home while they are away. I hope they give a big reward for those services. I have to clean out our two refrigerators and prep for holiday baking!
