YOP week #4 Year 13

I am obsessed with rug hooking and I am enjoying it so much!  Like other projects, I can't wait  to finish so I can start another one!  I did finish one star and I started another.  There are 4 altogether.....after all 4 are finished then you cut them apart and use rug binding on the edges and turn to the back.  You also press/steam them which makes all the loops nice and even and finished looking.....

I'm getting better at not twisting my loops and making them even....practice, practice, practice!

I worked more on the Snowy Owl and soon will be working on the body of the owl.........

I found my BOM #6 but I did not get it cut out...maybe this afternoon.  I did work on Jim's XS but still working on the letters. I did not work on the star blanket at all but I did work on more Battenburg squares and learned the Join As You Go (JAYG) method and got a few together.........

I finished 2 books this week from the Reader's Digest Select Edition..........I bought it for Prayers For Sale which was good but then I read 2 more..........Still Life and Grace....both were excellent especially Grace.  I highly recommend these Reader's Digest Select Editions.  Every book is a winner!  I get them on Thrift Books...4 books for the price of one!

Just remember.............

Happy Trails!!!

Wow, so many projects. Looks like lots of fun. Sadly I have really gotten out of the habit of reading. I have lots of good books downloaded but I never take the time to read them.

Lovely star. Looks like you will have the next one done very soon. Your Battenburg is going tongrow quickly now that you learned the join as you go method. I have yet to learn it. Those reader digest books sound like the way to go. My reading has taken a back seat lately. Need to grab one of my many books a start reading again.

I love the rug hooked stars! They are so fun!
JAYG REALLY saves time! Sometimes my problem is that I don't know which order I want my colors!

Over the last three years I have been doing more audio books. Mostly because I don't need to stop what I'm doing to listen to them. Being able to cook dinner and "read", or sew and "read" has been a game changer for me! I have the hoopla app free from my local public library.

The rug hooking is coming along nicely, as are your knitting and crocheting projects. All of that and you read two books? Do you ever sleep? LOL

Your completed star looks great. I’m not exactly sure what the process is, so I’ll check out some YouTube videos. I’m glad you are having so much fun with it. The Battenberg pieces look very neatly joined. I thought one day I’d make one but I don’t enjoy crocheting with thin yarns so I frogged my squares but enjoy seeing when others make it,

I love that last quote! The rug hooking looks fab- and Battenburg is starting to take shape now you have the joining underway.
